Mouse River Players
offered our first Senior-student bridging the generations workshop that
was held from June 12-June 22. This workshop was sponsored by the Minot
Area Community Foundation. We had four student participants: Shelby
Mattson, Alex Nelson, Katie Weigel, and Grace Cabarle. We had five
senior participants: Herb Johnson, Marilyn Mattson, Reub Forsberg,
Arlene Saugstad, and Donna Weigel and two teachers, Kelly Hobbs and
Holly Eidsness.

Our students and teachers interviewed our seniors about their life
growing up in a number of areas such as childhood memories, memorable
world events, dating customs, fashion of their high school days, and
prices of items such as movies, food, cars, incomes, etc. We learned a
great deal about farm versus town life, war memories, how to make your
own fun, and how to grow up. As a group, the students wrote a play to
portray each senior. We performed it on Thurs., June 22 at 10:45 for
the seniors, families and other interested audience members.

The show was titled, "Black and White Memories", Bridging the
Generations: 13 to 94 Years Young. This show was a celebration of life
as well as educational fun. We had a great time!
